Note to self: When sporting a bump, get great staples - functional, stylish pieces that are versatile and grow with the bump... so that looking polished is as easy as polishing off that vanilla ice cream.
I don't know a single woman that doesn't like that feeling of looking fabulous. The great folks at Ann Taylor LOFT sent us a couple of pieces to try. Since I already love the line for the non-bump set, I had high hopes for the maternity line and we weren't disappointed.
Here are our picks from the new LOFT Maternity line:
1) The Adjustable Waist Maternity Pants: a great pair of no panel pants with a real zipper and waist (hooray for technology); it grows with you through an elasticized back. This pair will carry you though all 4 trimesters (3 with baby plus 1 to recover)
2) The Pima Cotton Maternity Cardigan: oh, so soft Pima Cotton and in great everyday colors, clay (a dusky, rose-pink) and black, you'll reach for this cardi long after your bump days are done.

Ralph Lauren Baby Sale and Create Baby's First Polo
Ok, I love the look of Ralph Lauren. It's classic. The lines are clean; the quality is great, there are great pieces for boys (so much harder to find than girls) and you always wind up with a baby that looks, picture perfect -- and now you can get picture perfect at fabulously discounted prices and with complimentary gift wrapping, it sounds like an excellent time to stock up for baby and friends.
Here are our pics for baby.
1) Cashmere Baby Bunting Set: I love this heirloom quality set for the simplicity and the fact that cashmere is so luciously soft against baby's skin... oooh, yummy.
2)Create Your Own Baby's First Polo: Pick your style (shirt, dress, sleeves). Pick your color of many. Pick your monogram. Tadah- everyday Ralph Lauren made by you(and when you're done, make one for you, hubby and big sister)--- Too cute and a fun way to do something crafty.

CM2B Picks from Childish Clothing
Author of Rock Star Momma and Owner of Childish Clothing, Skye Hoppus has created a great line of maternity and children's wear that screams, "Rock On" in a cool way. She is having a fabulous sale right now with prices at more than 40% off... I found a few things that struck my fancy, like the Kristy dress. the Salma and the Gillian top (and a steal at $20)
I also like that the styles that I love come in various colors and fabrics, so when you find the fit that rocks, you can rock it in different colors and look fabulously different all the time.

What I'm loving now: LaVanila Vanilla Grapefruit
It's cold here, really, really cold... and coming from north Texas where it is usually warm anyway, this 11 and 17 degrees weirdness, is just that, weird, but I can remind myself of the warm and steamy days of summer with LaVanilla's Vanilla Grapefruit Body Cream and Fragrance Rollerball.
It was a late night, my little one was up and reminding me that young babies have awkward sleeping routines and I was watching HSN, yes, the Home Shopping Network. Did you know that Sephora has a regular boutique with great products at even better prices? I found that I can shop for fabulous products from the comfort of my own couch, ohh and addictive combination.
I was a little nervous about buying perfume online without trying it first, but I loved the idea of a healthy fragrance and with a bump sometimes you want just the very best. I wanted products with active botanicals, pure essential oils, and antioxidants to wrap your skin in healthy, nurturing goodness -- Lavanila delivered. I was pleasantly surprised and rewarded with compliment, after unsolicited compliment.
Vanilla Grapefruit is a warm, musky vanilla, with a bright note of sunny grapefruit. It's not the syrupy, nauseating ickiness that is so often called vanilla and that cream is just that a long lasting cream that I used in the hospital to soothe the rough spots and remind me after a difficult delivery that I am beautiful and this body is an awesome, powerful, graceful machine.
You can find the LaVanila line of products at Sephora stores nationwide, www.sephora.com or like I did at www.hsn.com
